Obviously to make the BIG BUCKS….jk. Ever since I was 13 modeling has been a major part of my life. Yet, as I’ve gotten older I find myself looking for a “big girl” job in finance and marketing like my friends. Even though I have an absolutely amazing job I love, it doesn’t feel like a job at all because it’s all I’ve ever known. This created a problem because I was always searching for something on the side. I was a hostess, cocktail server, dog walker, and retail associate – all fun, yet temporary and boring after awhile. From there I was constantly looking for quick fixes or activities to keep my mind occupied. It wasn’t till 5 months ago (with the help of my creative coworkers) that I came up with the idea to start a blog. I thought about starting the ‘well known’ fashion blog; daily outfits, styling tips, and reviews. The only problem was that I don’t think I have the ideal "fashion blogger" style (that’s why I’m a model and not a stylist). Seriously, I’m more of a “ comfort over style” kind of girl. So this whole “fashion blog” idea was thrown into a very deep closet and locked away with 3 dead bolts.
It wasn’t until my very creative and inspiring friend, Leslie Saeta, helped me unlock and reconfigure them into a more ‘Charlotte’ friendly idea! This is where Diary of a Working Model was born! This blog will be made of everything that normally happens in my life. Including conversations with other models, products I love (even those that make me break out), what I wear to work/castings, and everything in between. I want to give the everyday, working model ideas and tips on how to improve their career as well as show those who aren’t models the ins and outs and the glamorous yet tough times of what it's like to be an everyday working model.
With that, I hope you enjoy the first of many posts of Diary of a Working Model!
